Modern Music!

Included are all of the materials, lesson plans, and presentation slides you need for a FULL unit study of modern classical music! This unit can be a semester long depending on the frequency and length of your classes and students as young as 5th grade LOVE IT!

Explore creative works like Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite” and Cage’s “Water Walk”. Get your students making music in non-traditional ways, expanding their perception of what music is, and become composers themselves without years and years formal training.

This unit is packed full of learning objectives and discussion points and are all standards-aligned (based on National Music standards and Wisconsin Music standards.)
